What to Do on the Sunshine Coast

Explore, Relax, and Live Like a Local

What to Do on the Sunshine Coast

When people think of the Sunshine Coast, they often picture beautiful beaches and a laid-back lifestyle, and they wouldn’t be wrong. But the Coast offers so much more than just a place to dip your toes in the water. Whether you're relocating, visiting, or already living here, there are countless ways to explore and enjoy this incredible part of Queensland.

As a local and buyer’s agent, I often get asked what there is to do on the Sunshine Coast. So today, let me give you a sneak peek into one of my personal favourites and a few hidden gems along the way.

Check out this video for a quick insight on What to do in the Sunshine Coast.

The Sunshine Coast Coastal Walk

If you love being outdoors, the Coastal Walk on the Sunshine Coast is a must. This shared pathway stretches right along the coastline and is one of the best ways to soak in the views, get some fresh air, and explore the local area.

You can walk, ride your bike, push a pram, walk your dog, or simply wander along with a coffee in hand. The section I love runs from Point Cartwright to Buddina, onto Kawana, Bokarina, Warana, Currimundi, and continues all the way to Caloundra.

It’s scenic, it’s peaceful, and it’s the perfect activity whether you’re flying solo, spending time with your partner, or getting the whole family outdoors. The views are spectacular, with plenty of spots to stop for a picnic, grab a bite to eat, or simply admire the coastline.

The beauty of the Coastal Walk is its flexibility. Do as much or as little as you like, and you’ll still get a dose of the Sunshine Coast lifestyle everyone raves about.

More Things to Do on the Sunshine Coast

The Coast is more than just beaches, though they are hard to beat. Whether you’re visiting, relocating, or looking for ways to entertain the family, there’s no shortage of activities

Australia Zoo is a must-see. World-famous thanks to Steve Irwin’s legacy, the zoo is an incredible day out for kids and adults alike

The Banana Bender Pub is a quirky local favourite for a relaxed drink or a casual meal

Maleny Botanical Gardens is the perfect inland escape. Head to Maleny and visit the botanical gardens, home to a stunning bird aviary with dozens of exotic species. The gardens themselves are breathtaking and a great day trip for couples, families, or solo explorers

Picnics and BBQs by the beach are always a winner. With so many waterfront parks and public BBQ areas, it’s easy to enjoy a meal with a view. Sunrise breakfasts or sunset picnics are highly recommended

From coastal walks to hinterland drives, beach days to wildlife encounters, the Sunshine Coast offers endless ways to enjoy life. For many of my clients, that’s exactly why they choose to make the move here.
