The smell of freshly baked bread and roasted coffee is always a warmed welcome. Bakers across the country work tirelessly day-in and day-out to provide their customers with the best baked goods. Whether you’re there for the sweet morning pastries to give you an energy boost or for the hot coffee on a cold winter’s day, having a bakery in the area can tremendously increase your quality of life.

With each bite, these magical pastries can really make your day. Without further ado, let’s take a look at the top 5 bakeries on the Sunshine Coast and the specialties that each of them offer!

1. Kenilworth Country Bakery

When: Monday to Friday (7am to 1pm)

Where: 8 Elizabeth Street, Kenilworth

Established in 1924, Kenilworth Country Bakery is a household name in the Kenilworth area. It is a World Heritage listed bakery with its old woodfired bread oven and centuries old character. The bakery not only specialises in baked goods and sourdough bread, they also offer artisan pies, donuts with every flavour imaginable, dog treats, vegan, and gluten-free options! Tucked away in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland, this bakery is situated right on the Mary River – you can expect travellers, locals, and outdoors enthusiasts alike to flock this bakery early in the morning.

2. Vans Wegens Continental Bakery

When:

Monday to Friday (6am to 4pm)

Saturday (6am to 2pm)

Where: 15/130 Brisbane Road, Bundilla Shops, Mooloolaba

Renowned for their cronuts and cruffins, Vans Wegens Continental Bakery has twenty-odd years under their belt churning out award-winning pies, pastries, and sourdough to the local community. Located on Brisbane Road, you can buy directly from their shopfront in Mooloolaba or if you don’t have time to visit the shop itself, this bakery also supplies their baked goods to dozens of local cafes across the coast. If you’re cruising through Mooloolaba, this place is a must try! Make sure to visit early in the morning if you’re aiming to snag one of their ironic cronuts or cruffins as they are local favourites and sell-out fast.

Don’t worry about sounding professional. Sound like you. There are over 1.5 billion websites out there, but your story is what’s going to separate this one from the rest. If you read the words back and don’t hear your own voice in your head, that’s a good sign you still have more work to do.

Be clear, be confident and don’t overthink it. The beauty of your story is that it’s going to continue to evolve and your site can evolve with it. Your goal should be to make it feel right for right now. Later will take care of itself. It always does.
