Four things to know about the Sunshine Coast before you move

Knowing where to start to find a new home can be an overwhelming and stressful task, here are the most important points to understand, when moving to the Sunshine Coast.

Air conditioning

The Sunshine Coast is hot in summer. For some people itโ€™s hot and humid a lot of the time (aka all year round) until you acclimatise.

Consider having air conditioning in bedrooms else it may be uncomfortable for some family members at night. An alternative is ceiling fans, they work remarkably well also.

Think climate control!

It is important to consider the orientation of your home and the Queensland climate. The afternoon sun can be somewhat powerful, therefore rooms on the western side of the house can be very uncomfortable in the afternoon sun.

Alfresco outdoor areas

Did you say BBQ? Or was that drinks I heard you say?! In Queensland we love to entertain and sit outside. Shaded areas and semi-covered seating should be on your dream home wish list to sit and relax.

Contemplate a pool

The Sunshine Coast climate makes having a pool a real bonus especially for families with children. But thereโ€™s always the beach to take a dip in too!
